A respected leader in the mortgage community, David served as President of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Southwest PA for the 2019–2020 term, following three years as an active board member. Throughout his career, he has successfully closed over 5,000 transactions – a testament to his deep industry knowledge and unwavering commitment to clients. 

David’s journey in real estate finance began while earning his degree at John Carroll University, where he worked as a Title Searcher for four years. That early hands-on experience laid the groundwork for his future success and gave him a unique perspective on the mortgage process from the ground up. 

Outside the office, David is an avid runner, cyclist, hiker, mountain climber, and Grateful Dead fan. He and his wife Lindsey live in Pittsburgh with their four children – Josephine, Mary, Charlie, and Caroline.

Robert Fillyaw is a seasoned veteran to the mortgage industry with a remarkable career spanning over two decades. Born with an innate ability to help others, he has assisted thousands of clients in achieving their dreams of homeownership. In his role as the Southeastern Area Manager for a prominent mortgage company, Robert oversaw the company’s top-performing group, consisting of over 100 employees working across 17 locations in 7 states, closing over 200 loans a month in excess of $50MM. He serves as a mortgage business coach with The Mortgage Marketing Animals Freedom Club, helping originators scale their businesses and enhance their productivity by building teams, systems, and processes.

His status as a preferred lender for many of the area’s leading builders and Realtors, and his consistent recognition as the market’s top-producing mortgage banker, is testament to his excellence and proficiency in his field. Robert’s team is reputed to be the best in the business, offering same-day approvals and frequent communication throughout the loan process. Their underwriters, all former originators, are skilled at finding ways to make loans work rather than focusing on limitations.

As a devoted and active member of several real estate-focused boards and associations, including GACAR and BANCF, and numerous local area Chambers of Commerce, Robert’s commitment to his profession is evident. His service to the country as a U.S Marine, having been deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, has earned him a lifetime membership of the VFW.

Robert’s interest in real estate goes beyond his professional life; he enjoys investing and flipping houses. Together with his wife, Lacy, they have successfully flipped over 50 homes and own a portfolio of investment properties.

Robert and his wife, Lacy, reside in Florida with awesome twins (boy and girl), Reagan and Liberty.  Robert is a huge Florida Gator fan and enjoys football and basketball season with his friends and family. He also loves to travel and visiting new places, as well as the family favorites which include: St Augustine, Las Vegas, and New York.

Tom Mills has been a seasoned mortgage professional since 2005. His rise to leadership began when he established his first sales team at a mere 26 years old, swiftly gathering over 30 loan officers by his side before turning 27. In May of 2012, he joined a prominent mortgage company as a Branch Manager and was later promoted to Regional Vice President in 2014. Tom’s role was to foster growth within the company both organically with his salesforce and by recruiting new talent. He was successfully able to grow a region that consistently produced over $1 Billion a year of mortgage fundings with 250+ direct reports spanning across 13 states.

During his nearly 12 years in that role he was able to establish strong relationships with both sales and operations. This allowed him to unite a culture and help Loan Officers and Branches expand production while providing superior service to customers and referral partners.

One of Tom’s many passions falls under the category of leadership development. Over the course of the last 10 years, he has personally invested over $400,000 in leadership, personal development, and sales coaching so that he can practice what he preaches – self accountability and investing in yourself! Through his coaching he has been able to “Pay it forward” and help so many others further develop throughout their careers.

His skill set comprises expertly guiding a sales force through an everchanging industry. This includes building and scaling sales teams, developing tailored systems and processes that optimize the inherent abilities and skill sets of individuals, and assuming the role of a trusted coach and mentor to top-tier producers and managers. Tom’s unwavering commitment to conducting himself with utmost integrity and a direct, honest approach has garnered the trust of his employees, fostering robust retention and deep rooted professional connections.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Tom actively engages in community involvement and cherishes his role as a nurturing father to Kylie, Carter, and Austin. Matt Stokes, a proud native of Brady, Texas, has remained deeply rooted in the Texan culture throughout his life. His journey into the financial realm began with the acquisition of an Accounting Degree from Sam Houston State University in 2001, laying a solid foundation for his professional endeavors.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys travel and the thrill of golf, balancing his career pursuits with a passion for exploration and sport.

His remarkable achievements extend beyond the world of finance. In 1999, Matt soared to the prestigious rank of third globally in Steer Wrestling within the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), showcasing his exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.

Matt’s career trajectory showcases a dynamic evolution marked by diverse roles and impactful contributions. From 2001 to 2002, he served as an accountant for a prominent homebuilder, leveraging his financial expertise to support the company’s operations. Subsequently, from 2002 to 2007, Matt assumed the role of Controller at a Mortgage broker firm, where he played a pivotal role in financial management and strategic decision-making.

His professional journey reached new heights as he assumed the role of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at Amcap Mortgage from 2007 until June 2024. During his tenure, Matt showcased exemplary leadership and strategic vision, contributing significantly to the company’s growth and success.

In June 2024, Matt embarked on a new chapter in his career as he transitioned to the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at HMA Mortgage, where his financial acumen and leadership continue to drive excellence and innovation within the organization.

Nicolina (Nikki) Shetler has extensive leadership experience in the mortgage industry dating back to 2001. She started her career in loan origination and quickly moved into a leadership role covering sales origination, market development, processing, underwriting, secondary marketing and disclosures.  She also held leadership roles at Indiana First Bank, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and most recently First National Bank.

In her free time, Nikki enjoys outdoor activities with her family including hunting, camping, and fishing. She is also on the Board of Trustees for Habitat of Humanity of Indiana County and the President of Tubmill Trout Club Unlimited.  She grew up in Cambria County and now lives with her husband of 16 years, Tom, their son Easton and two dogs, Bruno and Gunner.

Vanessa Godoy brings over 20 years of dedicated experience to her role as an executive leader in People Services, specializing in Human Resources and Recruiting within the mortgage sector. Beginning her career as a Recruiter, Vanessa has cultivated a deep understanding of talent acquisition and development, progressing through various HR leadership positions. Her expertise encompasses leading diverse aspects of People Services, including Recruiting, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Compensation & Benefits, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, and Change Management. Her professional passions include empowering leaders, aligning people strategies with organizational values, and cultivating a workplace where employees feel engaged and purposeful.

Vanessa resides in Saint Augustine, Florida, with her twin daughters, Sierra and Brooke, and her beloved pets, Violet and Buster. With 37 years of dedicated experience in the mortgage business, Cleta Nichols brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every aspect of the industry. Before venturing into the mortgage sector, she honed her skills in the financial world, having worked in a commercial bank. Throughout her career, Cleta has held diverse positions including Loan Officer, Processor, Underwriter, Closer, and Manager, allowing her to gain an in-depth understanding of the intricacies involved in each stage of the mortgage process. Her multifaceted background also includes a valuable stint in the title sector, where she further enriched her industry insight.

With over 20 years of experience in the Mortgage industry, Amanda Avila has had the ability to work in multiple areas of the industry. Starting in closing in early 2000, she quickly moved into Secondary Marketing and knew immediately that this was her passion. She had the opportunity to expand that knowledge by focusing her attention on Capital Markets and managing Servicing. Her goals are to provide diversity in products and pricing, increasing profitability and streamlining processes to make the mortgage experience a great one for borrowers and employees.

Amanda was born and raised in Houston, Texas and graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in finance. Amanda enjoys spending time with her daughter Kamilla and her family. She loves taking trips to the beach, fishing and hanging out with friends.

Lindsy Gwozdz is an accomplished compliance and legal executive with over 15 years of experience in financial services and mortgage banking. As Senior Vice President of Compliance and General Counsel at HMA Mortgage, she leads the company’s Legal, Compliance, and Risk functions and serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Lindsy oversees the development and implementation of the company’s Compliance Management System, Enterprise Risk Management Framework, and Legal activities.

A licensed attorney in the State of Ohio and a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Lindsy has built her career on fostering regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and operational risk mitigation. Prior to joining HMA Mortgage, she held key roles at Go Mortgage, LLC, Bread Financial (fka Alliance Data), NOIC, Inc./Concord Mortgage Group, and The Genoa Banking Company, and began her career in the title and legal sectors.

Lindsy holds a Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Toledo, College of Law, and a bachelor’s in economics from The Ohio State University. She is known for her collaborative leadership style, deep regulatory knowledge, and strategic approach to aligning compliance with business growth.  Outside of work, Lindsy is an avid traveler who finds inspiration in experiencing new cultures. Some of her favorite destinations include Lucerne, Seville, Saigon, Taipei, and Kyoto.

Jolie Wilding has served in the mortgage industry for over 21 years.  Her journey began with serving as a Loan Processor and Closer, where she was able to master file processes and loan guidelines.  From there, she shifted her focus to Loan Origination, where she successfully assisted hundreds of families on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and neighboring states achieve their dreams of homeownership.  In 2016, Jolie took on the additional role of Mississippi Area Manager, and she has been serving in Leadership roles ever since.

Jolie is a member of the Biloxi Ocean Springs Association of Realtors, a member of the Biloxi Elks Lodge, and a former member of the Biloxi Kiwanis Club where she received the River of Life Fellow award.  She currently serves as a Community Service volunteer with the Biloxi Police Department and spent many years serving as an officer on various Booster clubs with D’Iberville High School.

Jolie is a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  She graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services Counseling.  Jolie and her husband Keith have been happily married for 33 years.  They have two daughters – Kelcie and Kaleigh – who they are very proud of.  In her free time, Jolie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and boating.

Brittany has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and a masters degree from Strayer University. Her background is in property management and event planning, and her organizational, customer service, document management and problem-solving skills made for an easy transition into lending. She believes that the home buying or refinancing process should be unique to each borrower, and she loves being a part of a team who guides borrowers to the best deals or them, whether you are qualified now or need guidance to get there. She is on a team with more than 30 years of experience in real estate and lending and is eager to continue learning, growing her business and helping many more families buy their first, next or forever home!

Corrine’s experience lies in working with entrepreneurs and small business owners to garner a significant number of high qualified leads and exposure to grow their businesses through ongoing B2C & B2B marketing strategies. With a passion and more than 15 years of experience in Direct Response Marketing and Media, Corrine has deep experience in traditional forms of advertising such as Radio, TV, Print and Online. Her 15 years of agency experience has revolved around growing small businesses to reach their full potential in markets all across the U.S. In addition, her experience gained as a Direct Response Writer has helped her to develop a deep and vast understanding of how the public responds to offers and customer engagement platforms. Corrine lives with her husband, Emmett, and their 2 children, Elijah and Scarlett. She enjoys the outdoors, playing sports, hiking, traveling and home decorating.
